Karachi advances clock by one hour to save energy

KARACHI: Amid the whole of Pakistan, Karachi also advanced the clocks by one-hour effective midnight Saturday, June 1 in accordance with a decision of the federal government aiming maximum utilization of daylight and thus saving energy.

The move is one the measures announced by the government recently to save energy that also included closing shopping centers by 9.00 P. M. effective June 1, while all the markets would remain closed on Friday instead of Sunday besides KESC would not be providing electricity for lighting all the ads signboards and 50 percent of the street lights would remain off.
