The fire, which began at Kyeema on Tuesday afternoon, is now burning in scrub near Yundi, with fears it could reach nearby homes. Police are patrolling bushfire-prone areas and aerial bombers remain on standby, after temperatures hit 40.1C in Adelaide. Total fire bans are in place across most of the state with north to north-east winds expected to increase throughout the day, increasing the fire danger. Operation Nomad patrols today will target known firebugs by visiting their homes and checking on their whereabouts. Police ask anyone who notices suspicious activity or people in fire danger areas to contact the police assistance line on 131 444.
