Baghdad (NINA) –MP, Izzat al-Shahbander, of the National Alliance assured that “Forming a new alliance among Adil Abdul Mahdi, Ayad Allawi and Ahmed al-Chalabi will not affect the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, and his government.”
He stated to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) “Maliki’s strength are not related to these three figures who are competing away from Maliki,” noting that “The one who will succeed is the one who will form the largest alliances.”
“The alliance among Abdul Mahdi, Allawi and Chalabi could be referred to as the liberal Sh iite Trend,” he concluded.
Earlier, informed source announced that “The Vice-President Adil Abdul Mahdi, former Prime Minister Ayad Allawi and head of the Iraqi national Assembly Ahmed al-Chalabi are conducting intensified meetings.
The source stated to the National Iraqi News Agency “These meetings are held to prepare for forming a new bloc inside the Parliament.”
