He will propose using revenue generated from the tax increases—which would fall mainly on high-income households—to pay... ============= By Leanne Suter Updated 5 mins ago HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Police are searching for the gunman who opened fire on the CEO of a Los Angeles real estate company while he was behind the wheel of a Rolls Royce in Hollywood Friday. Kameron Segal, 48, was shot twice while leaving his office near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Gardner Street at about 8:45 p.m. He remains in critical but stable condition at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Investigators said the suspect pedaled up to the driver's side of the vehicle and fired twice. The suspect then fled the scene on his bike. He remains at large. Segal's friends are hoping the public will be able to provide some vital clues. "I couldn't believe that something so violent could happen to such a great person and humanitarian and such a giving person," said Mytchell Mora, Segal's friend. "I just cannot imagine the type of senseless violence happening." The real estate magnet, who heads up the firm William Holdings Property Management & Acquisitions, is known for the numerous properties he owns. Detectives are working to determine if Segal's business is connected to the gunman. The motive behind the shooting remains a mystery, as does the suspect. "It seems like there's something behind it and that's what hopefully we can get to the bottom of it, and if somebody has information then it starts from there," said Steve Castro, Segal's friend. Police are now reviewing surveillance video from the scene. Segal's friends say he is a generous philanthropist willing to help those in need. "I've never heard anyone speak bad about Kameron or anything like that," Castro said. "He has such a big heart, you know. The guy's got the biggest heart I know." They're hoping the public will be able help catch the suspect, who was described as a black male between 30 and 40 years old, about 5 feet 6 inches to 6 feet tall, wearing a backpack and riding a dark-colored bicycle.
