التقى وزير النفط السيد عادل عبد المهدي معتمدي المرجعية الدينية العليا في البصرة السيد عماد البطاط والسيد علي الحكيم والسيد عبد العال الموسوي والشيخ محمد فلك ، وجرى خلال اللقاء بحث التطورات السياسية والامنية في البلاد عموما ومحافظة البصرة على وجه الخصوص ، كما جرى مناقشة احتياجات المحافظة واليات الارتقاء بواقعها الخدمي والعمراني والاقتصادي بما يتلاءم مع مكانة المحافظة الاقتصادية في البلاد . واكد السيد عادل عبد المهدي ضرورة النهوض بواقع هذه المحافظة بما يلبي طموحات ابنائها وان يتم اعطاء الصورة الحقيقية لعاصمة العراق
