The meeting would include an announcement on integrating ballistic missile defense architecture as well as more military exercises to address maritime, counterterrorism, air and missile defense challenges, U.S. officials told reporters on a conference call. The leaders would also discuss ways to work together to harden government infrastructure against cyber hackers, the officials said. In a project which the city’s mayor hopes will encourage people to visit museums, the billboard ads have been replaced with artworks by renowned local and foreign artists. For 10 days, images by the likes of Pablo Picasso, René Magritte and Henri Matisse are turning the capital into a giant urban art gallery. The long, tree-lined Modarres highway, named after a famous Islamic cleric, now displays Edvard Munch’s striking masterpiece, The Scream. Another street hosts The Son of Man by Magritte, the Belgian surrealist, next to a painting by the famous Iranian poet and artist Sohrab Sepehri. Not far from it is a large landscape by David Hockney – the original was shown at the Royal Academy three years ago. Sadra Mohaqeq, an Iranian journalist with the reformist Shargh daily in Tehran, was delighted. “It’s pretty exciting. It’s wonderful to see billboard ads of laundry machines or big corporate banks being replaced by a Rembrandt or a Cézanne or a Picasso, what better than that?” he told the Guardian. “For 10 days, people have time off from the usual billboard ads just promoting consumerism. It is going to affect people’s visual taste in a positive manner.” Mohammad Babaee, another Tehrani citizen, said he was delighted to see works he had never seen before. “I had never heard of Barge Haulers on the Volga but now I get to see a big picture of it every day in Hemmat highway.” Elaheh Khosravi said she had to rub her eyes twice in disbelief. “When I woke up this morning, something strange had happened,” she wrote on the Iranian news website Khabaronline. “I thought I was dreaming, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Tehran had turned into a museum.” Shargh said the art had transformed Tehran into a giant canvas. “This is a very commendable move. It’s a festival of colour and movement,” it wrote. We wanted both Iranian and world art pieces and finally some 70% of the billboards are from Iran and the rest from the outside world,” he added. Among the artworks are images by Mahmoud Farshchian, a master of Persian paintings and miniatures. Jamal Kamyab, a municipality official involved in the project, said it was done to encourage people to go to museums and art galleries more often. “Unfortunately people don’t visit museums or cultural institutions as often so we wanted to encourage them to go,” he said, according to Mehr News Agency. The project is curated by Iranian artist and sculptor Saeed Shahlapour. Tehran also has a hidden treasure little known to the outside world. The city’s Museum of Contemporary Art holds the finest collection of modern art anywhere outside Europe and the US, boasting original works by Jackson Pollock, Francis Bacon, Andy Warhol, Mark Rothko, Munch and Magritte. But the pieces have been gathering dust in the basement of the museum for more than 30 years. Censors in Iran classed some as un-Islamic, pornographic or “too gay”, and they have never been shown in public. Others have been displayed only once or twice. In August 2012, a number of the collection’s paintings were put on show for the first time in Tehran as part of the museum’s Pop Art & Op Art exhibition, featuring works by Warhol, Hockney, Roy Lichtenstein, Victor Vasarely, Richard Hamilton and Jasper Johns. Two parts (of knowledge) were given to all apostles of God and mankind only knows up to these two parts. If Al-Qa'im arrives he (ajtfs) will reveal the rest of the 25 parts to the people above these two parts, until all 27 parts are revealed" Such a hadith indicates that all the prophets have two parts of this science. Moses (a.s.) overcame the magicians during his time by these two parts of knowledge and made his rod turn into a snake by the will of Allah (swt). Prophet Isa (a.s.) used to revive the dead when the science of healing and medicine was prevalent with these two parts of knowledge. This is evidence that the heavens provides messengers with knowledge that is superior to the knowledge a nation during any one time. How then can the Imam (ajtfs) who possess all twenty seven parts of knowledge go backwards in time? This is illogical and irrational. It is a part of the fake ideologies that many hold true when they are not even present in hadiths. أذا قام القائم أذهب الله عن كل مؤمن العاهه ورد أليه قوته Imam Ali Bin Al-Hussein: "If Al-Qaim rises, Allah (swt) will remove all melodies from the believer and return their strength". This is indicative of the medical progress during the Imams (ajtfs) time. From the Messenger of Allah (saws), he stated: "The people of the heavens and Earth will rejoice by him (the Imam), and the birds, beasts and whales in the ocean also. Water will become abundant in his government, rivers will flourish, and the ground will bring out its fruits and treasures". Five Saudis jailed for following fake Mahdi

Last updated: Thursday, September 11, 2014 3:46 PM Mansour Al-Shihri Okaz/Saudi Gazette RIYADH — A summary court in Riyadh sentenced five Saudis for up to 25 years in prison after they were convicted of following a Kuwaiti man who claimed he was the prophesied Mahdi (savior). The prosecution charged the five with believing in the fake Mahdi, traveling to Kuwait to visit him and attempting to spread his teachings in the Kingdom. The court said the defendants could not be released after serving their jail terms if they had not repented. It also slapped a travel ban of five to 25 years on the five men after their release from prison. The court said the judges reached their decision by majority, as one of them called for them to be executed. Both the public prosecutor and the defendants objected to the ruling. The court gave them a month to appeal its verdict before it becomes final. The court said all the defendants made personal contact with the alleged Mahdi, some of them lived with him in his house in Kuwait, helped him financially, administered his website, communicated with him through e-mail, distributed his books and wrote supportive articles on social media. The first defendant, who was imprisoned for 25 years, was previously caught on the same charge but declared his repentance and signed a pledge never to return to his takfiri (describing others as infidels) ideology before he was released. The court said all the defendants considered the Kingdom, its government and its people to be infidels and claimed that anyone who did not believe in their alleged Mahdi was not a Muslim. The second defendant received 10 years in jail, the third was imprisoned for 20, while the fourth and fifth were jailed for seven and five years respectively.

السيستاني وقف في طريقهم". ويضيف "لم يكن اية الله السيستاني يريد رؤية مزيد من العنف في النجف او ان يدنس المرقد الشريف على مرأى منه. وعوضا عن حل عسكري، دفع السيستاني ومساعدوه باتجاه توسط الامم المتحدة، وعندما فشل هذا الأمر، تدخلوا شخصيا من طريق التفاوض على وقف اطلاق نار مع مؤسس جيش المهدي، مقتدى الصدر. وفي النهاية تدفق آلاف من اتباع السيستاني الى المرقد، موفرين غطاء للمسلحين، الذين خرجوا بلا السيد محمد رضا، الرسالة الى الشيخ محمد مهدي الآصفي، ممثل المرشد الأعلى الإيراني، اية الله علي خامنئي، في العراق. ويتابع الخوئي "كان معروفا ان ايران كانت توفر للصدر دعما سياسيا وماليا وعسكريا. وسلم نجل السيستاني الرسالة الى الآصفي كي يوصلها الأخير، بدوره، الى الصدر ليوقع عليها. وفي اوائل اب من العام 2004، نقضت شروط وقف اطلاق النار، ما ادى الى اندلاع قتال اشد ضراوة. وبالنظر الى ان المرقد الشريف في النجف كان في دائرة الخطر، فالمخاطر كانت اعلى ايضا". وقبل حدوث الصدامات، اجتمع فريق طبي في النجف وشخّص وجود متاعب في القلب لدى السيستاني. وأكدوا ضرورة تلقيه علاجا عاجلا لا يتوافر في العراق. وقبل ان يتمكن من المغادرة الى لندن للعلاج، اندلع قتال بين جيش المهدي وقوات الامن الاميركية ـ العراقية وانتشر بسرعة في ارجاء المدينة. وكان على السيستاني ان يسافر الى لندن عبر توقف قصير في بيروت، لكن رحلته من النجف الى بغداد كانت مشحونة بالمخاطر. فالى جانب الصدامات في النجف، يقول الخوئي، "كانت مناطق جنوب بغداد وحول المطار، غربي بغداد، مناطق مجموعات مسلحة ساخنة. فاقترح مستشار الامن الوطني العراقي، موفق الربيعي، ان يسافر السيستاني الى مطار بغداد بمروحية اميركية، يعاد طلاؤها بالشارة العراقية، لكن هذه الفكرة رفضت. وبدلا من هذا، قام السيستاني برحلته المحفوفة بالمخاطر على مسؤوليته، بموكب يتكون من ثلاث سيارات". وفي لبنان، ما كان احد يعلم، باستثناء رئيس البرلمان نبيه بري، بمرور السيستاني السريع ببيروت خشية تسرب كلام فيدرك المسلحون في العراق ان السيستاني سيسافر من مطار بغداد. فبوصفه احد اكبر زعماء المسلمين الشيعة، فمن شأن السيستاني ان يكون هدفا رئيسا لقاعدة ابي مصعب الزرقاوي ومجموعات متمردة اخرى في العراق، سلفية او بعثية. بينما كان السيستاني يخضع لعملية جراحية في لندن، كان القتال يزداد سوءا مع كل يوم يمر في النجف. فقد فشلت الجهود الاولى لإقناع الصدر بالموافقة على وساطة الامم المتحدة لوقف اطلاق النار عبر مسؤولين في حزب الله ببيروت. وينقل الخوئي عن شهادة الخفاف أن "مساعدي السيستاني في لندن على اتصال مع مسؤولين عراقيين ولبنانيين وإيرانيين لإيجاد سبيل لإنهاء الصراع. بل حتى خامنئي بعث برسالة مباشرة الى السيستاني، يحذر فيها من مذبحة قادمة في النجف. وقال خامنئي ان ايران لم تتدخل او تتخذ موقفا اكراما للسيستاني، لان المسؤولين الايرانيين لا يريدون اتخاذ موقف معلن قد يخالف موقفه". وأجاب السيستاني في الحال ان "الحكومة العراقية، بقيادة رئيس الوزراء إياد علاوي، لن تستمر بعملياتها العسكرية حال موافقة الصدر على شروط مبادرة سلام. وبهذا، كان السيستاني يرمي الكرة فعلا في ساحة الصدر، لا بل حتى في ساحة ايران". وفي اثناء رقوده بالمستشفى، كان السيستاني يتلقى سيلا متواصلا من المذكرات العاجلة ترجوه لإصدار بيان. فقد بدأ الشيعة في عموم الشرق الاوسط ينتقدون السيستاني على صمته على الفوضى المتفشية في النجف. ويعلل الخفاف سبب عدم اصدار السيستاني بيانا بأنه لا يعتقد بوجود نفع عملي من وراء اصدار بيان. فعلى خلاف سياسيين يصدرون مئات البيانات دعما لهذا أو إدانة لذاك، مال السيستاني الى ان يقوم بتدخلات قليلة لكنها قوية عندما اعتقد ان بوسعه احداث تغيير حقيقي على الارض. وبعد تماثله للشفاء في لندن، قرر السيستاني السفر عائدا الى النجف على الضد من نصيحة مسؤولين عراقيين، كانوا يريدون شن هجوم شامل ونهائي على الصدر. وهذه المرة كان عليه المرور عبر الكويت والسفر بالسيارة الى النجف من البصرة على رأس موكب كبير لفرض وقف اطلاق نار قصير. فما كان للأميركيين او العراقيين ان يغامروا بتعريض حياة السيستاني للخطر. عندها عمد الصدر الى زيارة السيستاني، وخلال اجتماعهما المتوتر ذاك، صيغ اتفاق عاجل في النهاية. كان من شأن جيش المهدي ان يلقي اسلحته ويغادر المرقد، وعلى مسلحيه القادمين من خارج النجف العودة الى مدنهم. واستجابة لهذا، من شان القوات الاميركية ان تنسحب، وان تمتنع قوات الامن العراقية عن ملاحقة مسلحي جيش المهدي. لم يكن الصدر يريد تحمل اذلال خروج عناصر ميليشياه من المرقد لوحدهم، فاقترح ان يسمح للمتجمهرين خارج النجف الدخول اليها وتوفير غطاء للمسلحين الخارجين. وخلال الاجتماع مع السيستاني، نفى الصدر التقارير التي تحدثت عن وجود مجاهدين عرب غير عراقيين يقاتلون الى جانب جيش المهدي، إلا انه اقر بوجود ثلاثة ايرانيين يقاتلون بين صفوف رجاله، من بينهم امرأة انتحارية. ويروي الخوئي "اللحظة الاخيرة في القصة"، ولم تصل الاتفاقية الموقعة الى جيش المهدي في الوقت المحدد. فقد كانت الاتفاقية تقضي ان يخلي المسلحون المرقد بحلول الساعة العاشرة صباحا. فقد هرع مساعدو السيستاني الى توزيع نسخ من الاتفاق في الساعة السابعة صباحا، لكن قوات الصدر لم تتمكن من اخلاء المكان في غضون ثلاث ساعات. ولذلك فقد طلبوا تمديدا، وأعطي لهم، لكن عندما طلبوا تمديدا ثانيا وثالثا، بدأت القوات العراقية تعتقد انهم يخادعون ويعملون على كسب وقت. وزاد الطين بلة عندما وصلت جيش المهدي انباء تفيد ان اثنين من مسلحيهم اعتقلوا ـ على الرغم من ان الاتفاق يضمن عدم تعرضهم للملاحقة ـ وأخذ بعضهم يعود ادراجه الى المرقد خشية استهدافهم هم ايضا. واعتقد افراد جيش المهدي ان القوات العراقية كانت تخطط لنصب كمين لهم وهم بلا اسلحة ولا دفاعات. وهكذا هدد فقدان ثقة متبادل بإشعال الوضع المتوتر اصلا. ويُرسل الخفاف الى المرقد ليتحدث شخصيا الى الشيخ احمد الشيباني، احد مسؤولي الصدريين البارزين، ليحول دون فساد الاتفاق في اللحظة الاخيرة. فقد كفل الخفاف مرورهم الامن ونقل هو شخصيا الشيباني و20 من المقاتلين الاخرين بسياراته الخاصة. ويتذكر الخفاف حراجة الوضع عندما كانوا يمرون من نقطة تفتيش للجيش الاميركي في نهاية الشارع. فلو اطلقت رصاصة واحدة، لاشتعل الوضع في النجف مرة اخرى. وبينما كانوا يمرون، قال احد المسؤولين الصدريين للخفاف انهم اعترضوا اتصالات هاتفية في الليلة السابقة بين مسؤولين عراقيين والخفاف. ولعل هذا يشير الى ان عناصر جيش المهدي في العام 2004 كانت لديهم معدات اتصال متطورة في وقت كانت فيه حكومة العراق "السيادية" تعاني من صعوبة الاتصال في ما بينها. وفي اعقاب مفاوضات وقف اطلاق النار، اصر الاميركيون على تمشيط النجف عسكريا، الى جانب قوات عراقية، لتطهير المدينة من بقايا المسلحين. وكان من شأن خطوة كهذه ان تتناقض مع الاتفاق. أثارت هذه الفكرة حفيظة الخفاف، فقال بوضوح لقائد الحرس الوطني العراقي: "اخبرهم [الاميركيين]... ان دخولهم امر لا يمكن السكوت عنه، وهو خلاف الاتفاق، وإذا دخلوا... فليكن معلوما، اذا كان السيد مقتدى الصدر وعناصر جيش المهدي يقاتلونهم قبل ساعات، فالآن نحن سنقاتلهم، شباب النجف الأشرف سوف يقاتلونهم". اعاد الاميركيون النظر بالفكرة وأرسلت قوات عراقية فقط الى المدينة. واستتب السلام في النجف منذ ذلك الحين

تحريف تصريحات ابن‌عربی درباره امام زمان(عج)

I just found this and thought it would be good to share:

[ al-Ghayba by Ibn Abu Zaynab an-Nu'mani, Chapter 14, hadith #60: Ali bin al-Husayn narrated from Muhammad bin Yahya al-Attar from Muhammad bin Hasaan ar-Razi from Muhammad bin Ali al-Kufi from Muhammad bin Sinan that Ubayd bin Zurara had said: ]

'Once, Sufyani was mentioned before Aba Abdillah as-Sadiq (as). He said: "He (Sufyani) will not rise except after the rising of the one in Sana'a."'


Also, Sufyani would have to rise this upcoming Rajab in order for the return of the Imam (atf) to happen in the year 2012 [assuming 15 months in the hadith below is true] :

"The rising of as-Sufyani is an inevitable matter. He will rise in the month of Rajab. It will take, since his rising until his end, fifteen months. He will fight for six months. When he conquers the five districts, he will rule for nine months no more, no less."

حدیث 5 بن یحیی عن احمدبن محمد بن عیسی عن الحسن بن أیوب عن أبی عقیلة الصیرفی قال حدثنا کرام عن أبی حمزة الثمالی قال قال لی أبو عبدالله ع : إیاک و الرّئاسة و إیاک أن تطأ أعقاب الرّجال. قال قلت جعلت فداک أما الرئاسة فقد عرفتها و أما أن أطأ أعقاب الرجال فما ثلثا ما فی یدیّ إلا ممّا وطّئت أعقاب الرّجال. فقال لیس حیث تذهب إیّاک أن تنصب رجلا دون الحجّة و تصدّقه فی کلّ ما قال.

امام صادق ع دور باش از ریاست و دور باش از اینکه دنبال مردان بروی (راوی گفت) گفتم ریاست را دانستم و اما دنبال مردان رفتن، پس نرسیدم به آنچه دارم مگر اینکه به دنبال مردان رفتن بدست آوردم (امام ع) گفت: آن گونه که گفتی نیست دور باش از اینکه مردی را بدون دلیل و برهان نصب کنی (به منصبی) و اورا در هرچه می گوید تأیید و تصدیق کنی.

Imam Sadiq:
Avoid leadership and avoid following people.
The Narrator said:
I understood the leadership part, but about following people, all I have achieved has been through following people.
Imam said:
It is not as you have said. Avoid appointing a man to a position and affirming him without proof.

در زمينه بحث خاص و تطبيقي مهدويت نيز بسياري از دانشمندان اهل سنت به همان كيفيتي كه ما درباره امام زمان(عج) معتقديم، اعتقاد دارند و اگر نام علماي سني كه به اين اعتقاد استوارند ذكر شود، به كتابي ضخيم تبديل مي‌شود. برخي علماي اهل سنت پا را از اين هم فراتر گذاشته و گفته‌اند ما امام زمان(عج) را زيارت كرده‌ايم.
حجت‌الاسلام والمسلمين سيدعبدالله فاطمي‌نيا در سخناني در نشست خبري جشنواره بين‌المللي آخرين منجي، از تحريفات وارد شده در برخي متون اسلامي درخصوص امام زمان(عج) پرده برداشت.

به گزارش «فردا» و به نقل از جام جم، حجت‌الاسلام فاطمي‌نيا با بيان اين‌كه در مساله عام مهدويت بين شيعه و سني هيچ اختلافي نيست، گفت: در زمينه بحث خاص و تطبيقي مهدويت نيز بسياري از دانشمندان اهل سنت به همان كيفيتي كه ما درباره امام زمان(عج) معتقديم، اعتقاد دارند و اگر نام علماي سني كه به اين اعتقاد استوارند ذكر شود، به كتابي ضخيم تبديل مي‌شود.

استاد فاطمي‌نيا اضافه كرد: متقي هندي كه كتاب «كنزالاعمال» او مرجع و منبع اهل سنت است، خود كتابي مستقل با نام «البرهان في علامات مهدي آخر الزمان» نگاشته است و حتي برخي علماي اهل سنت پا را از اين هم فراتر گذاشته و گفته‌اند ما امام زمان(عج) را زيارت كرده‌ايم.

وي افزود: عالم برجسته اهل سنت شيخ عبدالوهاب شعراني در كتاب «الميزان الكبري» با بيان خصوصيات حضرت صاحب‌الامر(عج) مي‌گويد كه زمان ولادت وي نيمه شعبان سال 255 هجري است و ادامه مي‌دهد كه: وهوحي الموجود باق حتي الان يعني به زنده بودن ايشان تصريح مي‌كند.

فاطمي‌نيا درباره تصريحات ابن‌عربي عارف بزرگ اسلامي درخصوص حضرت حجت(عج) گفت: در فتوحات مكيه جايي كه او درخصوص امام زمان(عج ) صحبت مي‌كند، مي‌گويد كه او كسي است كه دنيا را پس از پر شدن از ستم پر از عدل و داد مي‌كند و اگر يك روز از دنيا باقي مانده باشد، آنقدر طولاني مي‌شود تا او ظهور كند.

وي اضافه كرد: در تمام نسخه‌هاي اخير اعم از چاپ 8 جلدي 130 سال پيش در مصر، چاپ 4 جلدي شيخ عبدالغني نابلسي در سوريه و چاپ 5 جلدي كشميري در مصر پس از ذكر اين عبارت فقط نوشته شده است كه: من ولد فاطمه رضي‌الله عنها.

استاد حوزه و دانشگاه در ادامه گفت: شيخ عبدالوهاب شعراني عالم مصري قرن نهم كه به گفته خود به نسخه اصلي فتوحات مكيه دسترسي داشته، در تلخيصي كه از اين كتاب با نام «اليواقيت و الجواهر» نوشته است، عبارت صحيح ابن عربي را در اين خصوص آورده است و در آنجا ابن عربي پس از ذكر نام حضرت زهرا(س) تصريح مي‌كند: و والده الامام العسكري(ع) و سپس نام پدران امام حسن عسكري تا امير المومنين (ع)را ذكر مي‌كند.

فاطمي‌نيا تصريح كرد: حتي ابن عربي در ضبط دقيق اسامي ائمه توجه داشته، مثلا آورده است: الامام التقي بالتاء و الامام النقي بالنون.

به گزارش «فردا» محی الدین ابن‏عربی یکی از بزرگ‏ترین عارفان اسلامی است که با آثار گران‏بهای خود، بر عرفان نظری تأثیر فراوان نهاد و بسیاری از عارفان بعدی، از آثار او بهره برده اند.

مهمترین کتاب های وی «فصوص الحکم» و «فتوحات‌ مکّیّة‌» است محیی‌الدّین‌ کتاب‌ «فتوحات‌» را در مکّهٔ مکرّمه‌ نوشت‌، و سپس‌ تمام‌ اوراق‌ آن‌ را بر روی‌ سقف‌ کعبه‌ پهن‌ کرد و گذاشت‌ یک‌ سال‌ بماند تا بواسطهٔ باریدن‌ باران‌، مطالب‌ باطله‌ای‌ اگر در آن‌ است‌ شسته‌ شود و محو گردد، و حقّ از باطل‌ مشخّص‌ شود. پس‌ از یک‌ سال‌ باریدن‌ بارانهای‌ پیاپی‌ و متناوب‌، وقتیکه‌ اوراق‌ گسترده‌ را جمع‌ نمود مشاهده‌ کرد که‌ حتّی‌ یک‌ کلمه‌ هم‌ از آن‌ شسته‌ نشد.

امام خمینی رحمه‏الله در آثار عرفانی خود، از محی‏الدین به بزرگی یاد می‏کند و عنوان‏هایی چون شیخ کبیر، شیخ عارف، بزرگ‏مرد و خُلّص شیعیان امیرمؤمنان علیه‏السلام را به او نسبت می‏دهد و او را به عنوان یکی از بزرگان عرفان می‏ستاید. گفتنی است در مورد مذهب ابن عربی در بین علما اختلاف است و گروهی وی را سنی و برخی شیعه دانسته اند.

حجت‌الاسلام والمسلمين فاطمي‌نيا همچنین در قسمت دیگری از سخنان خود در نشست خبري جشنواره بين‌المللي آخرين منجي با انتقاد از رواج بي‌توجهي به ادب انتظار در جامعه گفت: ما در اين زمينه درد دل زياد داريم. كسي منكر ديدن امام زمان (عج) نيست و در غيبت كبري هزاران نفر ايشان را زيارت كرده‌اند اما اين به اين معنا نيست كه اين مساله را آنقدر بي‌در و پيكر كنيم كه هركسي مدعي ديدن و رابطه مستقيم با امام زمان(عج) شود.

وي با اشاره به اين‌كه نام نازنين امام عصر(عج) را در هر جا و هر شرايطي نبايد به زبان آورد، افزود: در برخي مجالس مداحان به گونه‌اي نام ايشان را بيان مي‌كنند كه كسر شأن و بي‌ادبي به ساحت ايشان است. متاسفانه همه چيز را به مسخره گرفته‌اند. مجلاتي منتشر مي‌كنند و مطالب ساختگي درخصوص ايشان مي‌نويسند. كسي كه امام زمان‌(عج) را قبول دارد، چگونه مي‌تواند اين همه با شأن ايشان بازي كند؟

فاطمي‌نيا اضافه كرد: هر كسي از سر جايش بلند شده قبه‌العارفين شده است. خدا اسلام را از دست اين قبه العارفين‌ها خلاص كند.

The Shrine of Two Imams, Ali al-Hadi and Hassan al-Askari

Alī al-Hādī was the tenth of the Twelve Imams. Hassan al-Askari was the eleventh of the Twelve Imams. Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan al-Mahdī is believed to bee the ultimate savior of humankind and the final Imām of the Twelve Imams. Twelver Shī‘a are said to believe that al-Mahdī was born in 869 and did not die but rather was hidden by God (this is referred to as the Occultation) and will later emerge with Isa (Jesus Christ) in order to fulfill their mission of bringing peace and justice to the world.

Have you seen the Iranian government's new film "The appearance of Imam Mahdi Is Imminent?" The film shows Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Ahmadinejad and the Secretary General of Hezbollah Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah as the most important characters contributing to the emergence of Imam Mahdi.

From what I read the shrine at Jamkaran (located a short distance away from Qom), is where the Mahdi is said to dwell. With the strong backing of President Ahmadinejad, the Jamkaran mosque has been undergoing a complete renovation and expansion in recent times.

President Ahmadinejad's end prayer called on the messiah to hasten his appearance is unique and illustrates the sense of immediacy that Ahmadinejad frequently seeks to convey when speaking about the Mahdi’s appearance. According to Ahmadinejad’s own account, as he made this call to the Lord he was bathed in a green light, which he took as a sign that the Mahdi himself was blessing the speech.

Al Mahdi will materialize when the believers are severely oppressed in every corner of the world. He will fight the oppressors, unite the Muslims, bring peace and justice to the world, rule over the Arabs, and lead a prayer in Mekkah at which Jesus will be present.

In a speech to clerics in Mashad last month, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that the appearance of the Hidden Imam, the Shi'ite messiah, was imminent, and declared, "The time has come for us to carry out our global duty... With God's help, Iran will become the center of [global] leadership... The Hidden Imam runs the affairs of Iran and of the rest of the countries of the world... and he is preventing the U.S. from taking over Iraq's oil and looting it."

Alam-al-Hoda, Friday prayer leader in the city of Mashhad, reinforced Ahmadinejad's statements, saying that nuclear scientists had told him that they had successfully overcome the technical difficulties of developing Iran's nuclear program by turning to the Hidden Imam.

In the narration of Abu Said El-Hudri (as), the Messenger of Allah (saas) said: When the Dajjal (the Antichrist) comes, a man from among the believers (Al Mahdi) will confront him. Suddenly man an armed men, Dajjal’s armed men that spy on at the centers, will oppose to that believer. And they will ask him, “Where do you mean to go?”. Al Mahdi replies, “I mean to go against that person (i.e. the Dajjal). The Dajjal’s follower says, “Don’t you believe in our Lord?. The person replies, “Our Lord has no secrecy.” The others say, “Kill him!”. Then, some of the Dajjal’s followers say to the rest that, “Hasn’t your Lord prohibited you from killing anyone without his prior consent?” Following that, they take that person to the Dajjal: Mehdilik ve Imamiye (Mahdism and Imam Mahdi), 37

Whoever is tested and tempted by Dajjal's fire, he should plea for God's aid and read the first verses of the Surat al-Kahf. This way Dajjal's fire will be as a cool balm and will provide safety."

To sum this all up.

Does Iran's President believe the Apocalypse is close at hand? Does Ahmadinejad believe that he might be Imam Mahdi? Is he suggesting that he will use nuclear weapons like the fabled Zulfiqar to end all evil.
