Truck roll-over at Wingfield - traffic delays expected

Police were called to a truck roll-over overnight at Wingfield. Just before 7pm, a semi-trailer carrying a shipping container rolled as it exited the North-South Motorway onto the Port River Expressway. The semi-trailer crashed with a pole which in turn struck the back of a utility on the Expressway. The 41-year-old truck driver was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with minor injuries. Motorists are advised that traffic exiting the North-South Motorway to head west on the Port River Expressway, will have reduced speed limits of 60 km/h as the shipping container needs to be manually unloaded and is currently in the stopping lane. Traffic travelling west on the Port River Expressway will also have a reduced speed limit of 60 km/h and workers will be on the side of road fixing infrastructure. Motorists should also expect periods from 10am where they will be unable to exit the North-South Motorway to travel west on the Port River Expressway. Traffic heading west on the Port River Expressway from Mawson Lakes may also be reduced to one lane whilst recovery efforts are underway. There were no other injuries and minor damage was caused to the utility.
